Make sure all these files are together in one directory when You attempt to load the patch into Your Sampler

To use the program with Your Akai S2000/S3000 sampler You will need a Win 95/98 computer with an SCSI adapter together with a program that is able to load the sounds into the sampler.
There are different programs available for that:

MESA II PC	This Freewareprogram can be downloaded from the Akai Website.
Nicewave	This shareware program is currently under development. s3p import is already announced. please check the website to get the latest developments.
Millenium	Sorry, no URL here. This freeware utility is no more available. The Author is working on a commercial version of the program. please check the search engines for more informations.
Awave	The mother of all patch converting programs. It is actually not capable of sending the Patches to Your Sampler. I included it within this list because also here S3p support is under development and might be alredy available when You read these lines. This will allow You to convert the Akai Patches into a wide number of different patch formats and also to create S3p-files from Your favourite gigasampler programs or soundfonts that can then be loaded into the Akai Sampler using one of the other programs mentioned

Note: It might be necessary to change the file extension from .s3p to .prg in order to load the patches with elder versions of Mesa or Millenium.

All the Wind instrument Patches come in three different versions:
VEL:	This program uses note on velocity to control filter cutoff and amplitude
CC2:	This one is optimized for midi windcontrollers like the Akai EWI units or theYamaha WX11 or WX5. For best results it is required that you change some settings on Your Sampler. Here is an easy guide how to do it.
CC7:	Using these patches allows You to control filter and amplitude independently. CC#7 will always control the Amplitude. Set the external Controler to FOOT (CC#4) or BREATH (CC#2) to use it for Filter control.

Dudy_vel.s3p Dudy_cc2.s3p Dudy_cc7.s3p	chanter: C5 - D6 (60-74)	To catch the main characteristic of the instrument it is vital to play "legatissimo" and with constant or very narrow dynamic range. listen to foloekjazz to see what I mean. chanter and drone were recorded near the microphone. to achieve a more realistic sound, it is recommended, to assign a special midi track to the drone, whose sound is normally directed to the background. this way it is possible to add more reverb to the drone than to the chanter to get a more realistic sound impression.

Stellen Sie sicher, daß sich alle diese Dateien im gleichen Verzeichnis befinden, wenn Sie den Patch in den Sampler laden.

Awave	Die Mutter aller Patch Konverter. Eigentlich kann man Hiermit keine Sounds zum Sampler schicken. Dennoch habe ich es hier aufgeführt, denn Der S3P support wird mit einem der nächsten Updates verfügbar sein. Es wird dann möglich sein S3P Programme in viele andere Patchformate umzuwandeln. und was wahrscheinlich interessanter ist: Man kann S3p-Patches aus (beispielsweise) Gigasampler programmen oder soundfonts erstellen. Diese können dann mit einem der oben genannten Programme in den Akai Sampler geladen werden.

Anmerkung: Wenn Sie mit einer älteren Version von Mesa oder Millenium arbeiten, wird es möglicherweise nötig sein, die Datei-Endung von .s3p in .prg zu ändern, um die Patches laden zu können.

Alle Blasinstrumente kommen in drei unterschiedlichen Versionen
VEL:	Diese Progreamme nutzen die Note on Velocity um Filter cutoff und Amplitude zu kontrollieren.
CC2:	Diese Sounds sind optimiert für MIDI Blaswandler wie den Akai EWI oder dieYamaha WX11 or WX5 Modelle. Hierfür ist es notwendig, zunächst einige Voreinstellungen am Sampler zu verändern.. Eine einfache Anleitung dazu wird hier gegeben.
CC7:	Die Benutzung dieser Patches erlaubt es, Filter Cutoff Fequenz und Amplitude des Signals unabhängig voneinander zu kontrollieren. CC#7 wird hier benutzt um die Lautstärke zu beeinflussen. Stellen Sie FOOT (CC#4) oder BREATH (CC#2) für den externen Controller ein, um damit den Filter zu steuern.

Dudy_vel.s3p Dudy_cc2.s3p Dudy_cc7.s3p	Spielpfeife: C5 - D6 (60-74)	Spielpfeife und Bordun wurden direkt aufgenommen. Um einen realistischeren Klang zu erhalten, ist es daher empfehlenswert, dem Bordun, dessen Schall ja nach hinten abgestrahlt wird, eine eigene Midispur zuzuweisen. So kann ein höherer Raumanteil hinzugemischt werden.Um den Charakter des Dudelsacks zu imitieren ist es notwendig, mit konstanter Dynamik und legato zu spielen.
